Co-founders Allie Young (Diné), Kayla Gebeck (Ojibwe) and Abigail (Oglala) have been friends since they met at Dartmouth over a decade ago. Well-Read Native is the culmination of years' worth of thinking about how they might meaningfully impact their communities while doing what they love: reading and discussing books!
The Well-Read Native Indigenous Book Club is a community of readers from all over Indian Country and the globe. Our 1,200+ members represent over 95 tribes and 4 countries (and counting!)
While membership is open to allies, our mission is to read and elevate Indigenous voices in academia and literature. The Well-Read Native team is always open to book recommendations. Got an idea? Please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
Well-Read Native's goal is to build a community of readers throughout Indian Country and the globe who believe in the impact of books—and friendship!
Join Well-Read Native on September 23 at 7:00 PM CT for a discussion of My Grandfather's Knocking Sticks: Ojibwe Family Life and Labor on the Reservation by Brenda Child. Brenda will be joining us!
